Lotus Organics is a brand well-known for its pure and potent beauty and wellness products. Today, consumers are more and more aware of the harmful effects of some chemical formulations used in substitute non-organic products. Our client has been revolutionising the beauty industry with wellness solutions that are not only pure but also potent, ensuring safe and effective skincare for consumers. Being 100% vegetarian, cruelty-free, and with recyclable packaging, the brand is a perfect choice for environmentally aware and responsible citizens – being the epitome of real beauty and love.
The Challenge
Even though Lotus is a well-known brand, it does not generate substantial organic revenue from digital sales. Customers were buying the product through paid advertising but not landing on the e-commerce website through organic search. For any business, paid advertising implies a high cost of acquiring customers, making the net profit less. Lotus Organics needed a strategy to increase its organic revenue. The brand was struggling for visibility in search results.
Our Approach
Organic revenue is a direct result of organic traffic on the website. Customers searching for beauty and wellness products online had to land on the relevant Lotus product page. In order to ensure this happens, the primary task for us was to do extensive search engine optimization for the client.
Keyword Research and Analysis
Targeting the correct keywords was one of the prime factors in improving SEO. We did an extensive research and analysis of the client’s products and webpage to identify the right keywords. Our approach, as always, is to choose purchase-oriented keywords. This ensures that customers who are actually looking to buy land on the product page.
- This involved identifying our key demographics. The typical Lotus Organic client would be specifically looking for organic products. Hence, introducing keywords like organic lip and cheek tint, organic sunscreen, organic cream, and organic beauty products gave great results. These keywords are amongst the top 20 ranking keywords on Google.
- Similarly, keywords relating to some specific organic formulations in demand by the customers, such as the beetroot lip and cheek tint, bakuchiol oil, and mineral sunscreen for oily skin, were also the right keywords that helped increase the organic traffic on the website, and also improve its search visibility.
Improving Search Engine Visibility
A key factor affecting a website’s search engine visibility is the ease with which search engines can crawl and index a website’s pages. We implemented a proper URL structure and added descriptive and unique title tags and meta descriptions to the pages. Increased visibility was evident from the higher rankings on most of our keywords as well as higher organic traffic. This also involved using Google Analytics and integrating the results to improve the website’s performance in the search results.
Website Authority and Search Engine Rankings
Website authority is a measure of its credibility and is a primary factor determining which web pages appear at the top of search results for particular queries. Therefore, to improve the website’s search engine rankings, we had to improve the website’s authority. We achieved this through extensive work on the backlink profile. In March itself, we created 724 backlinks.
- We created high-quality blogs with original content and acquired relevant and authoritative backlinks from reputable websites. In March itself, we did 10 paid and 4 organic guest posts, which created high-value organic links for the client. These blogs, along with the on-page blogs, were extensively promoted. They also helped build brand awareness and reach new audiences.
- We made 5 organic article submissions. They helped attract organic traffic from search engines and social media platforms to the website.
- In addition, the backlink network was created using Web 2.0, Quora, image, and PDF submissions, as well as social bookmarking.
- In addition to building backlinks, the social content sites and classified ad submissions helped increase the brand’s online visibility and allowed us to do targeted marketing, leading to higher conversion rates.
- These efforts were further complimented by website product reviews, video promotion, and backlink comments.
